I'm still not really buying that.

The vote that got denied was like 3 steps away from NY being sanctioned in NY.

It was further along in the NY legislature last year, and no one mentioned it. I don't think Dana would be like, "My huge announcement is that the NY Assembly is going to vote on MMA. Yay." Because that's all the NY votes in the past 2 weeks would have allowed.

Affliction has the "Best HW In The world" on July 19th on PPV, so big DW answered with "FREE on TV, the best P4P & MW and the world" on the same day. It's the Competition of Orgs everyone's been missing since Pride vs UFC. While the affliction card is the better card to see that night, UFC and Spike have a lot more muscle and definitely fucked with afflictions day for sure.

Yeah I read your thread on that, and it definately seems plausible as NY sanctioning seems bigger to me than what Fertita is doing with his life, the only thing is that NY sanctioning doesn't seem "Way out of left field" as Dana said the announcement would be (and Lorenzo leaving his casino business is certainly a left-field announcement) and Dana is much smarter than to get this HUGE announcement going before the sanctioning was absolutely set in stone. I think maybe he was hoping the NY sanctioning would be PART of the announcement that he did make.
