like him or hate him the dana is ufc. hes like mcmahon for wwe. yes u may like wrestlers like hulk hogan, macho man, steve austin, but do u really care about them once theyre no longer on tv? the same goes for mma. where would guys like anderson silva n gsp be without ufc? wheres tito now? does anybody knows or even cares? they are excellent athletes, but to get to the "rockstar" status they need a promoter to sell them.

just look at what dana has done to promote silva. he continuously labels him as by far the best fighter in the world. it only takes dana 30 secs to go on tv say how unbelievable the guy is, tell rogan to do the same n all of a sudden anderson silva is the bets fighter in the world.

dana comes across as a jerk, but it works for him n ufc n ppl are buyin into it. he made ufc the major league of mma.

Yes it's true. Dana White talked the Fertitas into buying the UFC for 1 milion dollars...Here is what you're forgetting...

Dana ran the UFC 36 million dollars in debt, and was looking for a buyer. He got someone to go as high as 4 million. They were ready to sell until the last moment Lorenzo decided not to and go with a last ditch effort. That last ditch effort was known as The Ultimate Fighter, which also happens to be something Dana White was totally against....I have no idea where some of you have the idea Dana came up with the idea of TUF because that simply never happened.

So tell me? Why exactly wouldn't the UFC be were it is today without Dana White....
Excellent post.

The Dana groupies in this thread are hilarious.

Funning how can you run a company that was one it's way to being bankrupt with losses that where close to 40 million dollars in debt to 36 million dollars in debt hum.

What alot of people don't get about the TV deals is that many of the net works have a vision of what you program should be and many times it not the way you want it to be. Spike is the beat fit for the UFC because they cater to the UFC not the other way around

No, I'm not a Dana nuthugger but shouldn't you back that statement up with some proof? It may well have been Lorenzo's idea but Chuck's book seems to indicate that it may have been Dana's.

But Pride really wasn't competing in the U.S. market. So the UFC still had the best talent in its market.

DW didnt come up with the idea for TUF, he was actually against initially.. Now he may have done some good once upon a time, but now he is only damaging the sport with his unproffessional antics.. Vince fucking McMahon could do a better job
