Crocop vs. Fedor II
So there have been lots of rumors that Crocop may go to the UFC. For all of you that want to see this happen...think this through. If Crocop goes to the UFC, he will WITHOUT A DOUBT destroy everyone within 2007. He will be champion. That is a guarantee. However, is that such a good thing for Crocop? In my opinion...that would be a great fall from glory. He is currently ranked #2 in Pride (and the world imo) only behind Fedor Emelianenko. He has won the OWGP and should be in line for a rematch any time soon. This rematch will be possibly the greatest rematch in history.
Now, if he were to leave Pride and sign with the UFC...what would this do for Crocop's legacy??? People would say "Oh he was #2 in Pride and then left and became champion in the UFC's much shallower hw division." Does anyone want to remember Crocop that way?
Some of you may say "oh but UFC could sign Fedor and they could have their rematch in UFC." In my opinion...the UFC can't do this fight justice. The first time these two guys fought, they were put on one of the world's grandest stages, the Saitama Super Arena, in front of nearly 50,000 people. The event generated a huge sense of significance and many still remember this fight as one of the most memorable events in MMA history. Do you really want to see Crocop vs. Fedor II in the UFC? A fight of this much importance...taking place in a cage, in front of 10,000 disrespectful and uneducated fans? I sure as hell don't.
I think that Pride is the only organization in the world that can do this fight justice...hopefully this time it will be in the Tokyodome.
And God help us if Bodog gets this fight...

Well, he left k1 cause he couldn't win that. So it's just natural if he goes to ufc once he realizes he can't beat Fedor or Nog or Werdum.

You can't really compare his transfer from K-1 to Pride...to Pride to UFC. First of all K-1 is kickboxing. He just made the transition from kickboxing to MMA. Second of all...both K-1 and Pride are EXTREMELY prestigious/highly honored organizations to fight in. Just look at the size of their venues...it's really a big thing in Japan. I love the UFC and I watch every single UFC event...but you really must admit that the level of class/professionalism/competition(at least on the HW division) is on a different level from the UFC.

I read through your post and I agree with what you are saying. If Cro Cop leaves Pride, he leaves IMO the third best HW. Lost to Fedor and Nog, he hasnt proven himself to be the best and he has the potential. I dont get this move to the UFC if he does move, whats in in for him. Cro Cop wants to fight in the US, fight on the US shows and dont leave for the money.

Doesn't change the fact that Mirko left K1 cause he realized he wouldn't be champ. He now realizes that he probably won't be champ in Pride either, so he moves on to the UFC.

Pride no longer pays their fighters the best they are know like the 3rd best paying company so thats one reason he could be leaving. Also fedor fighting in bodog he might stay there so crocops probably thinking he should get out while the getting is good cro cop has said that the only thing he cares about is fighting fedor

cro crop will stay in pride untill he gets his rematch with fedor. But i see him loosing to fedor. fedor is a highclass well talented fighter all around. Look at his last fight. His corner told him to take him on the ground. fedor was doing the oppiste, He got comfortable standing up with him. I think fedor will know cro crop will be real ready on his stand up and i see fedor taking him down and sub or just g and p. He knows cro crop gound skill will get better, but not at a high level like fedors sambo expiernce and ground game. no way...Then i see cro crop going to the ufc and letting his anger out on everybody there. I see no HW even coming close at cro crop in the ufc.

I think that Crocop is #2. When he fought Nog, he was TOOLING him...even almost ending the fight after tha lhk at the end of round 1. He stuffed takedown after takedown. Of course Nog still won with that beautiful armbar...War to both those guys, but at this very point in time, I believe that Crocop is above Nog.
