Crocop and his post UFC contract....

First lets leave all the conspiracy bullshit aside and lets focus and try to be reasonable. Ok lets state the facts:

1) Mirko has 5 fights on the UFC left.
2) Mirko wants the UFC HW title belt.
3) Mirko wants to fight Fedor in the future.

That said those are the only 3 facts we can make. About the PRIDE song you can say whatever you want, that he is a undercover agent, that he will return to PRIDE, that he wanted to rubbed it in Dana's face, that DANA wanted to rubbed in Sakaki's face... its up to you... but the truth is... WE DON'T KNOW AND WE SHOULD NOT CARE. Obviously Mirko has some sentimental ties with PRIDE and Japan and that will never change.

Anyway, we all know that Mirko has stated that he would like to fight Fedor as the UFC Champ in Japan in NYE. That said, it will mean both organizations will have to collaborate for that to happen. Before that we can safely assume (hopefully no injuries) that Mirko will have already fought 3 times for UFC (Eddie, England in April, Title shot in July/August) and perhaps if he wants to rush it a 4th Mid Oct. fight.

If that fight with Fedor fails to materialize (Wandy - Chuck anyone?) I believe Mirko will fight Fedor by Fall 2008 NO MATTER WHAT. OK Mirko will fight 4 times with the UFC in 2007, if his projected fight inteval goes as planned. He will have 2 fights left for 2008 in the UFC. He could fight in March and then in June his last fight.

I'm 100% sure the UFC will move Heaven and Earth to resign Mirko and will offer a contract extension in 2008. I believe no matter what, Mirko will say no to that very lucrative offer and take PRIDE's offer for at least a ONE FIGHT CONTRACT to fight Fedor (Assuming Fedor is still in PRIDE at the time). So basically Mirko will be saying ok Dana, you wan't me to fight Fedor as the UFC Champion or as the ex-UFC Champion?

I believe that fight will take place NO MATTER WHAT in the next 20 months and that is great news for all us fans to have that rematch... hopefully Mirko and Fedor can start the next chapter in MMA, that one were fighters CHOSE WHO TO FIGHT and the organizations that pay him have to work to make a profit out of it.

What do you guys think?

I think that Pride will not allow CC to fight Fedor with anywhere near a one fight contract, similar to the position Vera is in with the UFC.

Big IF:

CC signs a one fight deal with Pride, Beats Fedor for the Pride HW belt, and leaves Pride for more money.

1. CC is no doubt #1 HW on Earth.
2. CC names his price at any org. he wishes to fight in.
3. CC goes to the highest bidder (UFC)
4. Pride is done. take them off the grill.

Well maybe they fight a non-title fight... I just believe there is no way Mirko doesn't fight Fedor in 2008.

I think Fedor will retire long before he fights cro cop again. But If the UFC collaborated for him to fight Fedor lets have a champ vs champ card

Wandy is going to fight Chuck this year. TTT this to tell me that I'm wrong if I was, but that fight is going to happen sooner than most think.

Mirko will fight Fedor, just not by the next Pride NYE show. Dana White will never let Mirko fight 6 times in one year. After Mirko's UFC contract expires, I expect him to demand a fight with Fedor and I see no reason why Mr. Sakikabara will not let that happen. Think of the exposure it would bring to the Pride promotion with regard to the UFC fan base. DSE/Pride would win regardless of the outcome of Mirko/Fedor 2.

The fight will take place in Japan, promoted by Pride (most likely) because Mirko would be out of a contract and Fedor would still represent Pride. This would be the most likely scenario. Take the average TUF/UFC fan and expose them to the spectacle known as Pride Shockwave would blow some of them away.

I really hope that happens... ultimately the best thing that can happen to MMA is to have the BEST FIGHTERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD FIGHT EACH OTHER. I think fighters need to forget about that "poster kid" image and start DEMANDING better and better competition, I think Wandy needs to DEMAND a fight with Chuck, and Chuck needs to do the same thing... That will make the fans happier, organizations will make more money, fighters will get better and will get more money, EVERYONE WINS

I think that you a 95% correct.

1. Mirko does want to fight Fedor.
2. It will take the biggest MMA contract ever to keep Mirko in the UFC if he defends the UFC strap until the end of his contract.

Now the wild card:

1. What if Fedor loses between now and 2009?
2. What if Fedor gets hired away from PRIDE?
3. What if Fedor is really dodging CroCop?
4. What if PRIDE becomes US-owned?

Odds are, PRIDE will get sold this year. CroCop will be defeated at least once in the octagon. Fedor will go undefeated in that time period.

??? Too many IF's right now to know.
