Not taking anything away from the Croatians but some people from your list are half-croatian not to mention they are born abroad therfore could be a part of a different mentality/culture.

Croatian people raise their children Croatian. Where ever they are. That's a fact.

But that Maradona thing - it was once mentioned in croatian press that his grandmother is croatian. But never confirmed i think
