a crazy OWGP idea

I am sure this is crazy, but fun to think about:

The OWGP replacement of cropcop should be Chuck Liddell. The Barnett/Nog fight happens at the next pride ppv that was scheduled to have the next two fights. The Chuck/Babalu fight is ppd'd and replaced by Wandi/Chuck at 62. Then, the Pride OWGP final happens at the following Pride event. Babalu will fight Forrest Griffin at 62, and Stephan gets Sam Hoger or someone like that. Then, Babalu gets the next shot at Chuck.

Now THAT would be cool.

THAT is not a bad idea.

Well, some of it.

They can't have Chuck and Wandy do the UFC62 thing because 1: The gate at UFC's is shit compared to PRIDE and 2: They are supposed to fight twice in one night.

I think they should postpone the Babalu fight and send Chuck OVER to PRIDE for the OWGP. Then send someone huge over like Dan Henderson to fight Babalu.

I thought about that, and it would be ideal, but Dana would never go for that. If HE got the fight, it may be different.

cool idea, but I can't see Dana doing that. However, if Pride give UFC Wandy, there is no reason why UFC shouldn't give Pride someone to fight. Short of AA, Lidell, Sylvia, Franklin, or Babalu, there really isn't anyone in the UFC who could step up, and the above names are or either hurt, have a fight soon, or a champ that the UFC wouldn't gamble with.

Babalu deserves his shot, it's only one month out and imo that's too late for the UFC to cancel on him.

Not a big Tito fan, but why not. He can bulk up to his normal weight and see what happens. He's got nothing to lose. If he wins, and doesn't want to sign another contract with UFC then he has his options wide open. Just an idea???

Personally...I wanted to see Wandy battle 10 bat-wielding hobbits in an elevated fiery cage...and then if he managed to defeat them...get helicoptered off to a remote island where he would be pitted against the almighty KING KONG. : )

I'm not trying to bash your thread original poster...I'm just bitter bout the loss of Crocop...

That would be dumb to put Liddell against Barnett, Silva, or Nog. He would lose all fights in the first round.
