One of the serious obstacles that I see is that a good chunk of MMA fans are attracted to the sport becuase of the violence. They pay too see blood and guts, not an athletic competition.

I've never seen guts in an MMA fight, and there isn't usually a lot of blood involved. Sometimes, but not always.

People like MMA because of a mixture of both athleticism, technique, and people getting ktfo.

You must not have read my last post, so i'll ask you again, what is the point of this thread?

Also, why did you post this in the Heavyweights?

I thin safety can potentially mean broader acceptance ---> more money for fighters

What is the point of this thread? Do you think that MMA is unsafe without gear?

Do you think MMA isn't enough "like a sport" and should change?

A fight is not about showcasing your techniques and athleticism. You don't need two people to do that.

A fight is about making the other person quit, or putting them into a state in which they have no choice.
Yes, all of the above

I think safety will mean a lot less money for fighters. No one wants to pay to see sparring matches. You still haven't answered my questions, I guess you are ignoring me.

I think this question is better suited for another forum (although i'm still not quite sure what you are trying to say, do you want Sambo to replace MMA?).

Edit: You did answer me, but not very clearly. So you agree with all of my assertions? Or yes to my questions?

Combat Sambo= MMA

This is why Fedor looks so smooth and light on his feet when he fights. Combat Sambo is second nanture to him therefor he dominates MMA.

Combat Sambo = MMA regardless of the differences in rules.
