I completely agree. It's attract a completely new demographic and helps to solidify the UFC as the face of MMA.

I already assumed action figures would be coming when they had the hoopla about using the fighters likeness.

I figured they would be doing action figures and toys in addition to the video game coming out.

This is one of the things Randy was upset about. They want to use the likeness and make all this money off toys and games and not give the fighters anything.

If the UFC game turns out to be a good game and gets good reviews on the gaming sites, they will make alot of money on the game as well as the additional PPV buys they will get from gamers who previously had never ordered a PPV.

And bring in a lot more money for the company.

People on sherdog bitch and moan about fighter pay all day long, but anytime they announce something big that will increase revenue for the company, this, bud, etc, it gets shot down like it's no big deal, this place is ridiculous.

That's an interesting point. Some of the controversy in the past has stemmed from the UFC having controlling rights of the fighters pictures, media clips, etc. This is something that wouldn't have been considered at the time any contract was signed, so maybe the fighters will see money from this - let's hope.

It's huge actually from a business perspective. I know in the 80's I had all the WWF action figures from Hogan to Macho Man to Junkyard dog.

Grandma: What do you want for Christmas Billy?

Grandson Billy: I want a GSP action figure.

Grandma: What's that?

Grandson Billy: Explains .... GSP fights in the UFC ......

Now Grandma know's what the UFC is. This will go on in homes everywhere. Replace Grandma with Aunt, Uncle, Sister, Mom, Dad, etc. etc. etc.

I think that's kind of dumb, it better not be the big announcement. I guess its a small step in legitimizing MMA or something, but jeez who cares. There's plenty of UFC stuff out there.

Plus what if Brock Lesnar fails to win a single fight, that would look dumb.

If you really want a Brock action figure, go get the one Jakks made for WWE, he must have had several ones lol.

Jakk's as just lost rights to WWE (they jumped to Mattel), so it's win-win situation, it'll help Jakk's surviving (WWE action figures are a fine niche, they are websites dedicated to it), and UFC get a new merchandise segment.

Can't wait to have my mini Kalib starnes with his circling motion
