Chuck's Defensive Style

I hate watching liddel fight. does anyone else get annoyed watching liddel back up in a circle around the ring 2 times before there was a single real exchange? better watch out for babalu's leg kicks keep backing up. watch out! babalu's trying to initiate an exchange chuck, you better run straight backwards causing babalu to chase you. considering liddel's obvious superiority at stand up fighting, it would be nice if he didn't run away for 9/10 of the fight. I know it is chucks style, obviously it works and I wouldn't expect him to change it, but man I hate watching liddel fight.

Wow. Wow.

Like Chuck is the first or last fighter to circle the ring and size up his opponent, get a feel for things.

Like Chuck is the first or last fighter to back up when the opponent is on the offensive.

What would you do, stand there and get hit? It was so plainly obvious that Chuck's ability to back up and prevent Sobral's punches are what allowed him to then move right in and strike.

Some people will never be satisfied. The way of the future has got to be two fighters just sprinting at each other with eyes closed when the bell rings, head butting each other, and knocking each other out.

I got this from my reply in another thread:

Chuck's counter punching style reminds me of back in the day when I was @ the arcade playing Street fighter 2 and the little guys that allways seemed to show up just as I was starting to do well, and they would keep choosing Ken or Ryu and shoot fireball after fireball and then do that stupid fucking Dragon Uppercut if I got closer. Cheap!

Chuck's counter punching style is the reason he was not successful against Rampage in Pride. You cannot back up and circle opponents in Pride because the fighting area is slightly smaller and therefore it is full of more action packed fights
