Chuck and Wandy would both love to fight each other. They are fighters and have never ducked anyone. Everyone needs to stop all the bs about so-and-so ducking the other guy and put the blame on the guys who's fault it will be if Chuck and Wandy dont fight. Dana and Sakakibara both need to pull their heads out of their asses and figure something out. Dana has stated that he didnt think the fight was going to happen because "the Japanese are difficult to negotiate with", which is the pot calling the kettle black. No more blame will go on one or the other, its up to them BOTH to make it happen.

True that. It is clearly not the decision of Wandy or Chuck to cancel this fight. It is all between Dana and Sakikabara. Hopefully it will eventually happen, but as of now who knows?

The thing that I'm sick of is how everything else in MMA sucks because this fight isn't happening right now. "Pride Sucks!" "UFC Sucks!" I really don't understand how people can't just watch MMA for what it is and enjoy it instead of trying to find every single little thing that's wrong with it. Makes it hard to be a fan sometimes when people are constantly shitting on it. You're right though, if this was up to Liddell and Silva, the fight would happen tomorrow, God willing, it's not their fault!

this fight should be the top priority of both organizations

even if you dont like both fighters, this is just a step to the next stage in the sport
this is for the unification of a truly world championship title

i really hope UFC and Pride are both pushing for this fight
i honestly dont really care about Pride's US debut
theyll still have the same fighters, just different fans

i hope they can come to terms for the fans

It is not Dana's fault.

The gist of it was..

Dana was under the impression that he was buying out Wandy for his last 3 remaining fights on his contract. Buying out his contract, NOT borrowing him. Wandy was taking no pay cut and was going to remain on the same payscale (He acutally would have made less money than if it were a straight up UFC deal if his deal with PRIDE involved no PPV revenue sharing).

DSE/PRIDE changed thier minds on the sale of his contract. They backed out, leaving the UFC looking like jackasses after this "Big Announcement".

Dana did the right thing in trying to buy out the contract. DSE screwed the UFC, the MMA world and more than anything, the Fans.

Wandy has 3 fights left on his PRIDE contract.
Last I heard he was making something like 400k per fight.
After his contract is up, the UFC should beable to steal him by offering him a contract comperable to Chuck or Tito - $200,000/$250,00 per fight plus PPV revenue landing him almost $1 million per fight.

I think Silva will jump all over that.

If this fight happens, it will most likely be around August of 2007 when Wandy becomes a UFC rostered fighter after they buy him.

In all honesty, the UFC is paying alot of thier guys way better than PRIDE is. Its the lower end talent that don't make what they deserve. The champs and contenders are walking away with huge paydays.
