Would fedor make more $$ by sitting out for a couple years?

MMA is growing fast, the $$ has more then doubled every year for two years. It's forseeable that in a couple years the top fighters will be paid like top boxers,--instead of 500k per fight they'd be making 5 million.

Fedor's "legend" is very similar to royce, If he were to step away for a couple years, he would likely be able to land a single fight deal for a comeback that is more $$ than the entire two year contracts they're trying to sign him to right now.

He's only 30yo, and he has sambo fighting to keep him active, and the occasional 1 fight expedition for other orgs.

He doesn't need the ufc right now, he may be better off waiting.

I really don't think so. Fedor's best chance would have been right after the UFC bought Pride. Now that CroCop and Nog have looked less than stellar it makes the UFC wonder how much Fedor is really worth.

that maybe not a good idea, even if Nog gets the title, look at Barnett has beaten the CURRENT champ but no one cares...

All I know is he better look awesome in his next fight or this hold out is going to be very deflating.

the longer he sits out the less value he has.

other fighters become established and he becomes less relevant.

and his "legend" is in no way at all comparable to Royce, where in the fuck did you come up with that shit. not to mention, even if it was, people saw how his return went.

i think that fedor should sincerely try to get into the ufc, in order to be the best and stay the best you have to fight and beat the best, who are in the ufc atm (besides obviously fedor). waiting two years would make him that much older and perhaps weaker as a fighter.

Royce is a legend no matter what.

Legends do comeback in less than stellar fashion in other sports because they are past their prime, but it doesnt makes their previous achievements any less.

To say that Royce is not legend demeans the beginning of this sport, and disrespects those who established BJJ as one of the pre eminent disciplines in MMA, In other words, fuck off MORON.

If Fedor 'sits out' for a few years, nobody will give a flying fuck about him, and theres no way hes still the top fighter in the world.

You gotta fight top competition to stay on top.

i dont see sitting out to be be a realistic option for him. thats like a baseball player deciding to sit out when he's 26-30 yrs old. these are prime yrs. for fedor to be adding to a legacy.
