Can someone explain to me why Tim Sylvia is considered a top 5 hw? Fedor related...
honestly...
He beat AA one and a 1/2 times, the 3rd fight was one of the top 3 most boring fights i've ever seen right next to Kevin Jordan/GG, and Starnes/Quarry
He's come up short fighting the only other 2 top 10 HW's hes faced in Nog and Randy
He's never looked impressive fighting anyone of decent caliber and is constantly accused, and justifiably so imo, of just using his size to keep guys at a distance to ride out decisions in the cases where he has won (see Monson and Vera)
That being said why do people actually consider him a top 5 hw and someone who remotely poses a challenge for Fedor who has fought guys much bigger than Sylvia? Honestly, i couldnt care less about Fedor fighting Tim considering all the guys who have beat Tim have pretty much shown that Tim can: a) be rocked and put on the ground, b) has been subbed 3 times, and c) can be controlled on the ground
how does any of that bode remotely well for Tim's chances against someone like Fedor, and why is Tim's riding of his AA wins STILL giving him this magical top 5 status? Personally i dont think Fedor beating Tim does much for his credibility...

He's KO'd both Arlovski and Ricco in the first round and gave Big Nog a huge beating.
Throw in a little MMAth like Arlovksi>Werdum or Ricco>Big Nog.
And why do you say he can't ride off his two wins over Arlovski?
If you say that then you should also say Fedor can't ride off his wins over Crocop and Nog, in which case he's not even a top 10 heavy weight, you idiot.

Nice av by the way, Alex Grey rules

Well put. I would say that pretty much sums it up.

no i wasnt impressed with his Nog performance, look, Nog's M.O. has always been "take a beating and then pull out a sub" and he did just that, if Tim is "that good" on his feet why didnt he KO him? Nog was pretty much not doing anything to stop the shots but once again Tim was trying to jab his way to a safe victory imo
Bob Sapp gave Nog a "huge beating" in his fight does that mean Bob Sapp is top 10? no
He beat Ricco how long ago? and then TEST POSITIVE FOR ROIDS RIGHT AFTER
and Fedor has at least beat more than 1 top 10 and has consistently beat the the #2 HW in Nog, the former #2 in CC, he may not deserve to be #1 right now but is is definitely top 3 still
your the one busting out MMAth and im the idiot eh? hmmm

Exactly
If you are going to use flawed logic to discredit Tim, be prepared to apply that same logic universally

Sylvia tested postive after his fight with Gan McGee, which was 7 months after defeating Ricco
