Yeah, I remember when he said "This was my first time seeing this Tokoro guy, I think he's got a lot of potential."

That was up there with the infamous YAMMA "We discovered this new guy Travis Wiuff is a hot prospect in this sport" line.

I just don't think McCrae had the MMA knowledge to run the most comprehensive MMA news source in the world.

And if it is true that he, in fact, didn't want to work past 11pm... yeah, you can't do that...

The "news" in MMA happens between 6pm-9am EST (beginning of US shows -> end of Japanese shows). You can't be against working overnight when all the news happens overnight.

Yeah, great point, crusader6ranger! You call Breen "stuck up," say he thinks "his shit don't stink," and Breen has the nerve to actually want to defend himself against your attacks? Instead of just, you know, blindly accepting them? What a JERK this Breen guy is!

Way to show him up, crusader6ranger!

It is strange that they hired him in the first place. Just by listening to him on the radio it was obvious he didn't have the insight and knowledge of a Josh Gross or a Jordan Breen, so why didn't they notice this before they hired him? Could have saved Brad as well as Sherdog a lot of trouble.

Brad seemed like a nice guy, i never had any issues with him or his character.

I really just think this whole situation was handled very badly by the site.

And i tend to think that the other staff of this site were rather unfairly expecting Brad to emulate Gross, even if they say that wasnt the case, Gross was a machine, that lived and breathed his job.

Anyhow, this kind of thing is very common in working environments, ive experienced it many times at my work when fresh blood comes into a high position,
the veterans seem to focus more on the new members faults and negatives rather than the positives.

As someone else has already said, i think the real truth of this situation lies somewhere between what both sides are claiming.

This is all news to me. I admit I was kinda wondering why Brad just disappeared from the radio shows without explanation.

Oh well, finding suitable people for these sorts of jobs is hardly an easy or smooth process at the best of times. Hopefully the next editor is a better fit. Maybe give the job to Loretta Hunt as, from the synopsis of the interview posted, it sounds like she was re editing a lot of Mccray's work anyway.

Personally I liked McCrae, at least the way he came off on the radio--much better than Hunt for instance. But if he wasn't working out, then he wasn't working out ... But somehow I missed the whole "controversy" aspect. Where are the threads where this so-called controversy is being played out. Did McCrae himself post here?

He's hardly impartial. Isn't he one of the people backing WAMMA?

For me personally, knowledge of MMA is far more important for an internet radio show (even moreso as an executive editor) than a friendly personality. If I want to hear a friendly voice, I'll call up a friend on the phone. I was not at all a fan of McCray, I stopped listening to Beatdown after a few shows of hearing him.
