Sorry if I sound like a dick, but it just doesn't make sense why Hunt doesn't qualify and Monson does.

Ricco is also questionable since he's hasn't beat a top guy in a while now.

I don't think your position is at all preposterous, I just think that with Hunts few fights coupled with his not having fought for a very long time was enough to exclude him from the list.

I don't even know if he's fighting anymore. I heard he's doing Pro Wrestling in Japan, but that could be incorrect.

Rothwell and Silva beat an out-of-shape Ricco coming off drug/gambling addictions and VH1 reality show appearances.
I don't think they're equitable either. Its why someone like Arlovski who is 2-4 against fighters on the list is ranked higher than Cro-Cop, who is 4-4. The time period when a fighter beat another fighter is certainly important.

The list merely shows how fighters currently ranked in the top 20 have done against other fighters currently ranked in the top 20.

Some of the results may be misleading, while other results are not.

Barnett should be off your list too then since the last time he fought was the same night of Hunt's last fight.

The top 20 is tricky to rank though because there are a lot of guys that are interchangeable in the 10-20 range. I'll try to think up of a top 20 in a little bit.

Fair enough.

Just pointing out the wins and losses over other 'top competition' can't be taken at face value. The Ricco wins were perhaps the most glaring example of that.

I thought it was interesting that the only undefeated HWs against their top 20 contemporaries are Fedor (3-0) and Antonio Silva (1-0).

Also worth noting is that the two Heavyweights Fedor has beaten from this list are also the two Heavyweights who have had the largest number of top Heavyweight fights (Nogueira with 9 fights, going 6-3 and Cro-Cop with 8 fights, going 4-4. The only other Heavyweight to have 8 fights was Ricco, who went 3-5.

For those of you who have not followed MMA very long, this list may contain some information that is surprising, like Arlovski only being 2-4 against top fighters or that Gonzaga's win over Cro-Cop was basically his only significantly noteworthy MMA victory.)

Wins: Nogueira x2, Cro-Cop

The difference is that Barnett has a fight scheduled, while Hunt doesn't.

I, for one, sincerely hope Hunt fights again.

He's a very interesting fighter who could probably beat Tim Sylvia @#5, but would lose to Mir@#20.

A guy who punches that hard with a chin that granite is always a blast to watch.

Good list, just thought I'd add that Sergei has a loss to Aleks which you missed.

I agree that Hunt should be on there somewhere aswell.
