I may not be a fan of Dan, but if you're complaining about the Vera/Werdum stoppage it's clearly sour grapes. Vera took 30+ unanswered shots and did absolutely nothing to defend himself...He may have said he was fine afterward, but it doesn't matter. Rules are rules, and Vera has nobody to blame but himself.

Perfectly legit stoppage.

Vera is a disappointment. I thought he was the next big thing, but he should drop to LHW.

He took 30+ clean shots? Or did he take almost all of those shots on his arms and hands? Did nothing to defend himself? You mean keeping his hands not only up but moving as well as moving his hips back and forth to move out of the way of shots etc. He didn't just turtle up and stay that way and not move at all, if he did that then nobody would be complaining (or at least they shouldn't be).

At the end of the day Dan made himself a target with that horrible job he did in the Kimbo fight and everything he does now is going to be magnified. Could that fight have been allowed to continue? Yes. Was Dan trying to do the right thing to protect the fighter? I think so. So really all of the nasty shit talking back and forth on this subject it pointless.

I'd say Vera sucks, before I'd say Dan did.

Vera needs to win, and stop making excuses for his losses.

If you don't like a guy getting top mount and hooking both heels under your thighs while blasting your face either tap, defend, or get out of the position. Vera got beat because he is waaaaay overrated and he is not a heavy weight. He needs to shead the extra twenty lbs of man titty and gut and fight at 205.

Either way I don't care he is just another unsportsman-like little bitch like the punks in every other major sport that cry about foul calls, strikes, and penalties. I hate it when people use officials as an excuse for why they lost in a competition because you'd never hear them say it was the official's fault that they won.
Exactly what was going through my mind when i saw the fight.

Questionable stopage. Not a fan of Vera or "Big Dan". Let Werdum finish the fight himself. The refs need to stop this early stopage crap when a fighter on top is only hitting the other fighters arm.

Keith Jardine took more damage from Wand in 2 seconds than Vera or JT took in their fights and he recovered fine. I don't even like Vera and was pulling for Werdum, but I hate these early stoppages. I don't think many of these refs have ever watched any fights outside of the ones they work. Guys have come back from much more severe beatings to win. Protecting the fighters is important, but this is a violent sport. Fighters know the risks, just like boxers or football players (2 sports that are more dangerous than MMA).

The stoppage was fine. A smart way to defend a mount from Werdum is stopping the fight.
