According to Vera he clearly won the round and just made a mistake by simply not finishing Werdum when he had him rocked.
Maybe if he keeps on losing he will finally drop some of that ego.

I thought it was a bad stoppage, and if Miragliotta was going to let the Kimbo fight go the way he did, then he needs to show some consistency here. Although I will admit that this stoppage is more justified than the Kimbo travesty of a fight/refereeing match.

Bottom line to Vera - getting in a fetal position and holding your hands to your face may not be perceived by some as intelligently defending yourself.

I personally don't think he was in any real danger - the shots that were landing weren't very powerful IMO, and he never seemed close to being unconscious. He was taking the shots. However, he's just as much to blame as Miragliotta.

Vera is delusional. Stuck in mount and Werdum dropping bombs equals clearly winning a round?

Vera/Werdum = Tanner/Baroni I

Miragliotta is the new Landless...

Yeah, got to agree i don't see where all the controversy is coming from, he took a barrage of unanswered strikes and towards the stoppage was only defending himself with one of his arms..if it did not end then it would have a few seconds later.

Vera's alertness immediately after it was called + the lack of damage to his face + the small amount of time left in the round = questionable decision.

INSTANT REPLAY would have allowed the ref to review his quick decision to see if he made the right call. If not, return to same position, restart.

I felt a little bad for Vera, but come on he really wasn't inteligently defending himself.

Werdum's Jiu Jitsu is off the fucking hook, he would've got him sooner or later anyway.

That's funny. I made a thread about that earlier.
