I agree that Vera will probably beat Mir unless Mir really turns himself around. However, I think he is going a bit too far talking about beating Chuck. If Randy Coutoure has a tough time taking Chuck down, Vera will have no chance.

As far as fighting Chuck, he'd have to get in line behind alot of other much more worthy fighters. There's many LHW's with better resumes than Vera..mainly because his resume has noone on it.
I'm not saying he is or will be a viable threat, but there's many undefeated fighters in the UFC that look unbreakable becuase they are yet to be defeated.
You have to beat people with credentials to earn your own and until he starts taking out real names he wont get any title shot

i met brandon vera about a month ago. super nice guy and a real class act. hopefully there will be signs of him getting a title shot or a #1 contender shot soon.

Vera is great and right now seems to be in heavy contention for the UFC HW title. I also believe he could give chuck a run for his money.
