I am picking Vera to win this by KO. The poll on UFC website is over 2 thirds for Couture though. Nuthuggery at its best I s'pose.

I've got tickets to the meet and greet with Randy the morning after the fight. It'll put a real downer on the whole thing if he looks like that.

I think this is a bad match-up for both of them. They both have great clinch games and can cause serious problems for each other. If Couture can get the clinch up against the cage, he can dirty box Vera to a possible TKO. If Vera can get the clinch out in the open, he can break Couture down with knees to the body, which have always been a problem for Couture. Couture's ground game is going to be the deciding factor in this one I think.

If Vera doesn't get the heebee jeebees and crack under pressure I can't see how he can lose. Stays on the outside and lights him up. They are both excellent at Greco so that will be negated.


It comes down to Vera's striking vs. Randy's gameplan.


It would be nice for Randy to win sometime this decade, just don't think he will.

The only thing newsworthy that can come from this fight is if Randy shows he still has another legit LHW run in him. I haven't been impressed with Vera in a long time other than how cute his wife is. Glad this is a free fight.
