Boxing Weight Classes - What if?

What if the MMA had to use boxing weight classes? Who would do well in other weight classes and who would be left out in the cold?

Weight Classes
HW (unlimited) - Chuck, Babalu, and Arona would all probably do alright. Vera would have to stay at HW. So would Overeem (who I think would do a lot better there).

I think Tito would be screwed, because his style doesn't work as well at HW and he's used to be the bigger, stronger athlete. I also think Wandy would be screwed, because he couldn't make 190 and he has been mediocre as a HW. Same goes for Vitor.

190 - This weight class would be perfect for Frankling, Busta, Hendo, Lindland, and all the other big 185/183 pounders. Also guys like Dean lister and Jeremy Horn would do well here, because they keep bouncing between 185 and 205.

175 - Anderson Silva recently fought at this weight and has always been a small 185 pounder. Also, Joe Riggs would probably perform really well here. The person I see as the Champion at this weight class, however, would probably be GSP. He's a HUGE WW and would probably find a nice home at 175.

168 - This is so close to the current WW, that Hughes would still be dominant and guys like Karo, Koscheck, and Sancez wold probably stay here.

160 - This would be perfect for Sean Sherk. Hopefully, though BJ drops down and be dominant at this weight.

154 - Also very close to LW

149 - All the small LW's and Bantam Weights wold have a place to fight.

I don't see the point of this. This is the whole reason why the Fertitas fought hard to sanction where they are at under an MMA style, if you will. Granted they still use boxing refs. If you're so infatuated with boxing classes, go watch boxing.

Hold your tongue. Boxing has WAY too many weight classes. There is no reason for making a weight class 5 pounds lighter than the weight class above it. In pro boxing there's something like 12 weight classes. There would be 12 champs in the UFC. Nononono, they need to stick with 5 classes/champs maximum.

I like the idea of fewer weight classes. It makes the divisions deeper.

This would create to much confusion and weaken certain weight classes. There would be to many champs and they would have to move up or down to keep competitive fights going just not smart for MMA.

You've left out quite a few weight classes.
