Boxing vs Kickboxing in MMA

We all know what happened to Art Jimmerson when he fought Royce Gracie, a grappler.
But what if a straight up boxer decides to fight a kickboxer!!

all other things being equal, I would pick the kickboxer every time.

yes if you add kicks into the mix iam sure the kickboxer has the advantage since he is prolly already an established boxer

Kick-boxer would deliver the leg kick of death that have been known to cut boxers down when they fight in MMA or kickboxing

Boxer would be toast. Kickboxing has more variety than boxing and would kill it every time. Boxers just don't know enough to be even considered a speck in the MMA universe.

There are Kickboxers
a) that are actually boxers and use kick defense + punches
b) that are fullbred Kickboxers who kick and punch
c) muay thai/tkd guys who focus mainly on legs

A Boxer would beat a) but lose to b and c.

What about when Hearns KOed Sugarfoot in a kickboxing match when Hearns was well past his prime?

that video doesn't prove shit....i agree that a top caliber kickboxer will beat a top caliber boxer...but showing a video of a never was boxer catching a beatdown from a k1 top fighter doesn't prove anything

Depends on the rules of the kickboxing match. If it's muay thai rules, I pick the kickboxer everytime over the boxer. Boxers just don't know how to deal with the clinch.
