By the way, the Prodigy tag name is because as an American he was the quickest to earn his black-belt under a Gracie, and then compete/win in the World Championships. Too bad he never went further than the ADCC mundials..

BJ has nothing to prove as far as his nickname is concerned. Fighters who work hard will never have the special factor that BJ and other elite fighters have, a natural talent for combat. Guys like BJ, Fedor, Silva, and GSP were born to step into this sport because they were designed with certain qualities that allow them to see and pick up on things that less fortunate individuals could never do with a lifetime of training. He is a prodigy in this sport.
