he is the worst possible style matchup for hughes
Hughes won't be able to win by sub or KO, maybe GnP a victory but im not so sure
and Hughes has pride also, so he wouldn't LnP out a decision, which makes him work harder and therefore gives BJ more oppurtunities to sub him.

Good read, however I had alittle more confidence in BJ before reading it for a few reasons. The main one is that he isn't going to train as much for it as he referred to his casual trianing methods before the JJ championships. Hughes will be trainng his ass off as usual while BJ is training half ass so to speak. If he gassed in a 3 round foght with GSP then imagine what he will be liek in a 5 round war with Hughes. I would love to see him take it and have a feeling it will go to decision, and am split on the winner.

I still think this whole thing smells. I'm not saying that GSP isn't "injured" but if you really think about it the bigger fight was always BJ/Hughes and now that's happening. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but all of this is too convienient, and now I'd just like to see if GSP is treated like Karo and has to work his way back up, or if he'll get his shot right away. If it ends up being the latter then it's just going to fuel my "theory" even more.

As for BJ/Hughes, the biggest factor is that since fighting BJ last Hughes has always fought guys that aren't as talented as he is on the ground...until this fight. BJ off his back is just as dangerous as BJ standing or BJ in full mount. I really think Matt will be worrying so much about not making a mistake that he'll end up either making one or getting out worked substantially and lose a decision.

he calls him arrogant because BJ assumes he is better than everyone. that may be, but hughes has been backing it up and hasnt gone 2-2 in his last 4 fights.
