I'm not really sure the GSP/BJ rematch means much.

If BJ loses, all of the extreme BJ nuthuggers will just say BJ only lost because he was fighting out of his weightclass or injured his rib or was not in shape or some other excuse.

BJ is lucky as his legend can only grow from taking this fight. His extreme fans will move him up P4P even if he losses this fight.

St Pierre has been put away twice in his carreer at his natural weight and has had trouble finishing fights against some elite competition even when he is dominant (Fitch, Kos, Penn).
What the hell man, he DOMINATED fitch, kos, and had a good fight against penn man. What where you doing during those fights, washing bj's thong flip flops in the back? Fitch, he totally beat the hell up, geeze i dont even wanna go into that fight, (props to fitch for withstanding the punishment), and kos looked like a deer in the headlights the whole fight, so calm down. And the bj fight, if you actually watched the fight, rather than washing, you would have seen bj most effective tool that whole fight was just his takedown defense and a real good JAB, and it was the jab that did most of the damage that gsp kept walking into and didnt know how to get around, not combo flurries you moron.

many respected fighters (marcus davis, jens pulver, keith jardine, josh thomson, rampage, anderson, koscheck, din thomas, bas, thiago tavares, randy, trigg, kenny florian and the list goes on) have sung high praises for bj penn. there's obviously something to it

on the flipside, i've never heard a single fighter say that bj penn is overrated

i think the only reason people care about p4p now is because there is no more pride vs ufc to debate over hwen it comes to divisional rankings.

the true champions like gsp and anderson are worried about who their facing next in the ufc. p4p rankings only mean something to guys like barnett and fedor who fight in farce organizations.
very true

Anderson says BJ prob because he is not allowed to say Fedor.
I bet you a million bucks GSP caught heat for saying Fedor was #1 p4p

To all newer fans - This is why BJ is so respected
LOL...that article makes it sound like Machida is the best fighter ever..."Machida has dominated everybody he has fought, including brutal stoppages of Bonnar and Franklin"

I watched the Bonnar vs Machida fight. I don't remember that being a brutal stoppage. I remember Bonnar getting cut then p*ssed that they called the fight. I also don't remember Machida dominating all his opponents. Alot of them were boring decisions like the V White fight.

Also, the article mentions how no one has ever beaten Gomi like BJ has. It's kind of funny looking as how Gomi is losing often now.

Nevertheless BJ is a stud...just not as big of a stud as most posters on here would have you believe.

It's no use debating with the extreme BJ nuthuggers. They think BJ steamrolled everyone even though he has had several decisions (yet GSP gets flack for his Fitch and Kos decisions???). I also remember seeing Serra give BJ a very razor thin close fight...but most nuthuggers have a bad memory and think BJ knocked him out in the 1st round.

No matter whatthe outcome I'm sure the BJ legend will only grow by fighting GSP. Even if BJ losses he seemes to gain P4P points just by taking the fight.
