The fist point was not about the record, but it makes a valid point. BJ's win at the Mundials was impressive because he won after getting his BB in record time, not because he was American. BJJ accomplishments are also relatively irrelevant to MMA P4P discussions.

Seriously, it's a good article.

I think he gets ranked up there because his talent is amoung the best P4P.

I do agree though aside from the Sherk win, his resume over the past few years isn't all that impressive.

Very good thread backed up with some decent info.

Those of you calling the TS an idiot because you are a BJ fan should provide some facts of your own if you dispute the thread.

There are to many reasons why he shouldnt be that high in my opinion. T.S covered most of them.

Im not a BJ nuthugger either, and I actually think the Penn v Florian matchup is going to be closer than oddsmakers are expecting. Florian has shown vastly improved Standup, Gained 12 lbs lean muscle, and is no slouch in BJJ. If Penn underestimates Florian he will be in for a long night. He matches up better than Sherk and Stevenson who are basically wrestlers with limited striking

I'll take a guy like BJ who will fight anyone anytime over a guy like Fedor who won't fight anyone. I'm not sayin by any means he could beat him but he wouldn't be afraid to fight him.

it's a pretty big deal that an American won, did you not read my point. =[ It adds too his credibility.

You're on the money with this post. If Ken-Flo beats down Penn people will finally shut up, unless BJ comes up with some kind of excuse that his fans will perpetuate for the remainder of eternity.
