Big Nog and Tim Sylvia

Obviously Nog is the heavy favorite here, but do you see him finishing this fight? If he takes Tim down, will he be able to submit him? I know that he is considered the best submission artist of all heavyweights, but he couldn't even finish a washed up Heath Herring. I have liked Nog for years, but somehow I see this fight being a lay'n'pray for 5 rounds with Nog taking a Unanimous Decision. I guess it will also depend on how long he is willing to stand and trade, which is where Tim will obviously get his points.

I think Big Nog will definitely submit Sylvia.

Randy Couture took Tim down in their fight and pretty much played around with him. I think Nogueira will catch him with something within those 5 rounds.

As for Herring being washed up. I disagree.

If he gets it to the ground I think he'll basically select what ever sub he wants.

Tim has 3 losses. Only one was really a decisive finish: Arlovksi knocking him half-unconscious and then tapping him with the ankle lock. He had the freak broken arm stoppage against Mir, and then Randy took him to a decision.

So in 27 pro fights, he has only really been stopped twice (one of them I guess we would call technical submission). So Tim doesn't get KO'd ever and has only actually tapped to an ankle lock that AA had to knock him queer to setup.

I'm giving honest advice here (despite being a Tim nuthugger). Nog will undoubtedly be a nice favorite in the betting line, partly due to all the Tim haters. If this is so, then all of you (even if you hate Tim) should drop some cash on Tim for this fight.

Nog isnt the heavy favorite. Sylvia by decision. Nog hasnt subbed, or finished, any good fighter in a long time. And a decision favors Sylvia. People who say "Nog by sub" are doing it for nostalgia purposes only. Just like Tank or Vitor by KO.

Sylvia is no herring, he is going to soften up Nog for a round or two then get the KO
