A belt system for UFC...

I propose that UFC fighters have a belt system, just like all martial arts. Amateur fighters get a white belt (those who are fighting in non-UFC events). First time fighters are awarded yellow belts. To advance to an orange belt, a fighter must win a match against an orange belt. And to advance to a green belt, he must beat a fighter who is already a green belt, and so on until a fighter reaches black belt status. A fighter can be demoted only if he loses twice to a lower ranking belt but can regain the higher color again if he beats a higher rank opponent. Fighters are required to fight a lower ranked belt to be eligible to fight a higer ranking belt. Of course, the only ones allowed to compete for the big championship belt are black belts.

This would be an interesting concept and honors the martial arts tradition of color ranking.

Just posting a novel idea just because theres no MMA this weekend on tv and cant fly to Vegas for the WEC.

i dont think it matters much to be quite honest with you

i think as long as a fighter wins people are gonna recognize that and wouldnt need to see what color belt he has
