Icon6 Before people start to give silly names to that kick performed by Machida

It is called a "Jumping Front Kick". Not the "Dahlsim kick", the "Karate Kid kick", the "House of Machida's Deadly Crane Kick of Doom", or whatever kungfu soap-opera names you grabbed from old Hong Kong/Disney movies, video games, or the World Wrestling Entertainment.

Now, go practice little grasshopper! Then come back here and share with us the awesome name (atleast better than the ones listed up there) that you've come up with to describe this now-legendary move!

It was a great kick, but remember, that kick only landed because of how it was set up. Randy knew he had to look out for Lyoto's left knee, which had previously landed hard in the fight. The knee movement caused Randy to drop his guard away from his face, and then teh kick landed. Brilliant planning by Lyoto.

Well, to be fair, the Wushu crane kick has some similarities as the karate jumping front kick in terms of basic mechanics.

I'm fine calling it the crane kick.

I blame Pro Wrestling, each and every move gotta have a soap-opera variation on top of the official names

Can't wait to see Jon Jones perform the "People's Elbow" again in his next fight!

The Orbital Flying Death Kick of Doom sounds better to be honest.
