Aug 14 & 16, Lampley on Rome Show

Ok gents, Lampley will be hosting the Jim Rome show while Jim is on vacation Aug 14th and Aug 16th.

Few things:

1. I highly encourage people to write emails to him at: rome@haveatake.com

2. Write your emails in an intelligent manner being respectful of the host and Boxing in general.

3. Remember that Boxing is not the enemy, it is just another part of combat sports.

4. If you are going to dog Boxing, have solid points and be sure to mention the athletic ability of John Ruiz and the idiotic antics of Mike Tyson... ha ha.

5. I am sure you all understand that Jim Lampley is not an MMA fan and is uneducated about the sport. I recommend not trying to "convert" him. It is worthless.

These two days are our chance to make some more waves... hopefully positive waves. The Jim Rome show is the most popular sports talk show in the country. MMA mentioned on that show should be a goal. Cross your fingers with me in hopeing that the UFC / HBO deal goes though by then. That will give us plenty of ammo... ha ha

Jim Lampley will have to eat his words once the UFC takes over the Boxing After Dark spot on HBO. This guy bashes a sport he knows nothing of. I'll be sure to email

He is a very arrogant man. It is one thing to be intelligent and it is another to scan the dictionary for words to impress the masses. I am definitely going to e-mail him. I actually used to like him until he popped off like he did. A boxer couldn't handle a wrestler, let alone an average MMA fighter. I agree with the OP, try and research some things if you have time, go to Rome's web-site to replay what he said so we all appear prepared, pose questions to him and ask him to answer them and then ask him to show proof. He will bow down, or show another level of ignorance.

Im not fond of Lamp's feelings towards MMA, but he's entilted to his opinion. Jim Lampley is a very intellegent man. People saying that he's an "idiot", are just playing into his hands. If you try to out-smart him or argue with him, you will lose. His speaking skills and vocabulary are second to none. If you think that you are going to just call in or write in and prove him wrong or out-wit him, you wont. Just get your fact straight before you even attempt to. I can promise you, he'll be prepared. If you arent, he will embarass you.
