I just watched Penn/Gomi for the first time and Penn passed Gomi's guard 3 times like it wasn't even there, and each time he got the mount then the back, and Gomi's no slouch on the ground. Same thing happened with Hughes, td, passed the guard, mount, back, rnc. I've never seen anyone pass the guard with such ease. I think that is why he stands out in todays MMA. Theres not enough effort is put into passing guard, fighters seem to be content sitting in their opponents guard throwing short range hammerfists trying to rack up points. Penn seems to make it his objective to pass every time.

My question is, is there anyone else out there even close to Penn at passing guard? Is there even a debate?
