We have to understand that Pride did not like Silva holding their belt for the longest time. They wanted a Japanese champion. Hence, yeah they gave Wand those guys, but unfortunately, they were not the best. However, you cannot discredit Wand for that he has stepped up and tried to test himself. UFC is not so far off since we know they want certain guys to hold their belts as well, hence some rematches and rubbermatches we've seen.
Fedor fought Randleman because CroCop got KTFO by Randleman. It would've been Fedor vs CroCop then winner fights Nog.
CroCop was building up for a long time coming from K-1 and yea Waterman was considered pretty good at hone point. The Japanese fighters were for the fan base. Comparable to Ohio liking Franklin. The ones I didn't mention were shitty matchups of course, but give credit to fighters who beat their opponents and train constantly for these fights w/o injury. Hell the best get beaten on any given night. (recently Serra and GSP...not discrediting Serra, but we all knew that was a shocker)

Exactly. Thank you.
The Japanese wanted a Japanese fighter to beat Silva. They even gave him the biggest one. All we have to do is use the same method the UFC/Chuck fans used, "He fought and beat everyone they put in front of him."
Shit Dos Cara... Nobody knew about him. So they took a risk in letting him try out his skill against CroCop and what happened? We already know. But what if he had been another Soko? He was an accomplished Pro-Wrestler so who knew what he had to offer. I heard the UFC was going to sign Brock Lesnar. Will you bitch about him?
I say its better losing to an unknown that goes on to be a superstar than to lose to a well known CAN like V. Overeem, Kanehara or Elvis.
