Arlovski moved to Prelim?!

UFC.com recently updated the fight card for UFC 82 "Pride of a Champion" which emanates from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on March 1st.

Interestingly enough, from the get-go, former UFC Heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski was stuck on the non-televised preliminary fight card for the show. Arlovski's last fight in the UFC was at UFC 70 in England, which resulted in a unanimous decision victory over Fabricio Werdum, who reportedly is being considered for the next UFC Heavyweight title shot. Figure that one out.

To make matters worse (or better depending on your preferance), the Diego Sanchez vs. David Bielkheden fight, which originally came out as a main-PPV card bout, has been moved to the non-televised preliminary portion of the card as well, to make room for Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara on the main card.

The full UFC 82 "Pride of a Champion" card looks as follows:

PPV Fights:

-Anderson Silva (c) vs. Dan Henderson (UFC MW Title)
-Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo
-Evan Tanner vs. Yushin Okami
-Jon Fitch vs. Chris Wilson

Prelim Fights:

-Andrei Arlovski vs. Jake O'Brien
-Diego Sanchez vs. David Bielkheden
-Josh Koscheck vs. Dustin Hazelett
-Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti
-Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson

This is freakin ridiculous!! Fans have been waiting forever to see Arlovski fight and now he isn't even on the televised bouts?? This pisses me off.

Although I don't necessarily agree with you that fans are anxiously waiting for his next fight, given the fact that he had previously lackluster efforts, I do agree that his fight should be televised.

As a fan of his him having a 'next fight' isn't enough.
I want to see the Pitbull, not the post-marriage timid fighter.
It breaks my heart, I've been a huge AA fan for a very long time.

If he fights O'Brien like he fought Werdum and Tim (third time), I don't want to see it.
It'd tear me up inside.

I agree with the change... why waste another 15 minutes of PPV time on an AA v. O'Brien snooze fest. If AA comes out with a big knockout or finishes the fight quickly then he's got a better chance of having the fight moved up to the PPV.

Welcome to 2-3 days ago. This question has been thoroughly answered plenty of times. If you were paying attention the last 6 months, it shouldn't have been a surprise either. His next fight, wherever it will be, certainly will be on the top of the card.

Looks like AA is saying Bye-By to the UFC. Otherwise he's on the main card.

IMO, it's EXC for AA.

Sanchez shouldn't have a fight on ppv he is a terrible fighter. AA has got to prove he is worth something because it is clear Dana White doesn't want to lose another well known fighter because their contract has expired which is the case for Tito Ortiz and he wants the UFC to offer him a new deal if any other offers don't suit him

I thought he liked good against cruz. He should be on the main card and resign with the ufc.
