Maybe now that he isn't in the spotlight anymore he will get his fire back and try to get back to the top.

the key words i used are "between" and "sherdoggers are fickle"

Guys lose in mma. He's always in shape. Never gets tired. He always looks great. Never fat. He lost a couple of fights and showed up with a hot woman. So, everyone uses that as a crutch. Thinking that he just lost isn't enough. He has to have lost the fire due to the spotlight and the woman.

Ok, so he's got BJJ, so do lots (500+)...he's young yeah, lots of young fighters..big and strong aren't always class opponents.
He KO'd Mirko when Mirko wasn't even close to being the competitor he was in PRIDE. He caught Mirko sleeping. And just because Randy is Randy, it does not mean he can stand up to high kicks, he's only human.
Oh yeah, Serra TKO over Georges first round....he's no 1 hit wonder..come on'

He beat Werdum, who technically ranking wise, has lost to anyone with quality or potential.

I love the Gonzaga, Sanchez, Werdum junkies.
The fact that you say Sylvia isn't a great fighter shows YOU ARE A FUCKING NOOB! I hate Sylvia but the guy just beat Vera, beat Arlovski twice and has been champ twice.

He is exciting (even if he hasn't shown is lately) he's got the fans, he's got the looks, and he puts asses in seats. Add that all up and it's what Dana wants. Dana may not own the whole thing but he has his sway.

I also realize that the UFC is on this "what have you done for me lately?" trip, and this is what it comes down to as to why we haven't seen him, other than the contract bs.

He isn't going to fall the way of Fedor by not fighting top competition. He is going to keep fighting the elite in where he is, and I fully believe that he is going to one day get his belt back. He's been around for a while, and he is staying for a while. his birthday is in a month, and guess what? he's still not 30 years old. Joe Silva, Dana white, and the Feritittas know this.

1. Fedor

5. Tim S.
6. Hunt (depending on what weight class you want to put him in)
7. Gonzaga
8. CroCop
9. Aleks
10. Sergei Kharitonov
11. Kongo (I could go slightly higher with him but no higher then eight)
12. AA
13. Werdum
14. Herring
After this it get quite cloudy. I believe there is a good hand full guys that would present major issues for A.A. after this (mainly strong wrestlers with decent striking).

The main issue is I don't think A.A. would beat Fedor, Nog, Randy, Josh, Hunt, CroCop, Aleks, and Sergei. You could even throw Tim S. in there since he beat him twice. 50/50 chance against Gonzaga, Kongo, Werdum (Again), and Herring. In todays landscape of HW's I just can't see A.A. ever being higher then about 8 in any world rankings. Which puts him on the low second tier of HW's to top of the third tier of HW's.

Silly Noob - Crocop 's mental state and his duties in parliament as well as becoming trigger happy.
Wandy- idk maybe he can't clinch well when being flurried ?
