Barnett is A. Coming off of a highlight reel KO, B. Beaten Randy Couture, the man who Fedor wants to fight, and C. Speaks English, it doesn't get much more marketable than that.

I like AA, but I'm not sure that anyone can actually outstrike Fedor in and MMA match. Obviously Andrei's boxing is looking really good and will only be improving with the circles he's moving in, but I just don't quite see it.

you know that barnett wasn't even popular with the US fans when he WAS in the UFC and was the champ. He just doesn't look the part, he's flabby and chubby. In japan he was popular cause he's a white dude with blond hair and resembled a video game character, but I don't see that translating to the US. Just look at the different reception barnett and arlovski got. Barnett was so theatrical after his win yet arlovski still got much bigger cheers. Arlovski has more natural charisma while in US barnett is just kind of bland, so their fighting abilities aside, arlovski is more markatable. Most casual fans probably don't look too deep to know what a great fighter barnett is.

Im pretty sure Afflictions plans are for Fedor to fight Couture, Barnett to fight anyone and Fedor to fight Barnett NYE in japan in a monster co-dream/affliction fight.....

It's got nothing to do with abilities or personality at this point. Arlovski made a pretty big name for himself during his time with the UFC. As of now, Affliction is going to bring in most of their money through ticket and ppv sales, and Arlovski has the bigger name with the general American mma population. Barnett has only fought one other time in America since being stripped of the title back in the day, so he really wasn't around when mma started growing.

I really hope he is....I love watching him fight when he's like a machine but it makes me cry a little inside when he shrivels up when he gets taken out of his gameplan.
