Aoki's spandex pants=unfair advantage

Shinyas pants are bullshit imho! I dont know what the exact material is, but being a longtime jj guy the first time i saw the gay yellow spandex it bothered me. Basically it allows him to cinch up "especially triangles" certain submissions. Everyone knows that the longer a fight progresses the harder it is to lock onto certain holds=due to sweat... Im calling bullshit and Pride should make the dude wear fight shorts just like everyone else. Believe me Aoki is not trying to set a fashion trend.

doesnt seem to have a problem wearing shorts here btw...

Gi's generally cotton although you can get special order, the reason for cotton is "no itchy" good point though....

I am fine with the tights. If guys can wear gis and shoes then why not tights. I applaud Shinya for being innovative. I think they look stupid but if he keeps finishing guys then WAR AOKI. On a side note doesn't this mean he will be more susceptable to leg submissions because it will be harder for him to pull his leg out?

exactly, if you can wear gi pants which are essentially the same as the spandex, but without the option of your opponent being able to grab onto your spandex shorts.

the essence of it is this, if you need to grab onto the shorts, or the shorts are stopping you from escaping a lock, you suck and fail at life, don't get caught in the position in the first place.

not really because there about 6 inches off the ankle so your forearm/elbow part depending on what hold your going for would slide off(i'll post some pics tommorow). Also in no way am I against aoki he's a complete demon on the ground just know bullshit when i see it.

Don't forget that fighters in gi can do a gi choke...at least, if i remember correctly, it's legal in Pride at least...
