Maybe if the UFC didn't hustle fighters then we would've been able to find out...I'm sure he would've wanted to challenge himself more by fighting @ WW.

Aoki really impressed me. He seems to have sick submissions. But he does'nt seem very strong and his striking is unknown to me. I certainly don't see him beating up the top WW's.

I would love to see him in both competing the UFC and Bushido.

I haven't seen his fight with Sakurai. Does anyone have the breakdown of the fight, or a vid? I don't see him in the top 5 WW. He would at very least have to beat Karo to break into that spot. Hughes and GSP are also HUGE WW's. They walk around at around 190lbs, and have fought MANY tough opponents. BJ Penn is smaller, as he walks around at 170lbs, but his actual skill level is better than even that of Hughes and GSP. I just don't see Aoki touching any of those guys right now. He needs a few years. A fight with Diego, or Karo would help gauge where he is in the scheme of things for sure too.

The case with Aoki outside of the UFC 170 is the case with any dominate UFC HW Champion with PRIDEs HW's. He needs to be tested and put himself against the Big 3 of the other division before we can really gauge their skill level on that platform.

We can have our opinions but if it remains to be seen, then it remains to be seen and nothing more.

but my opinion, he would be outmuscled easily by GSP and Hughes.. I would love to see him fight Diego though.

Aoki is easily in the top 5 WW's in the world, especially with Sherk dropping down to LW permanently.

He very well could become the #1 LW in the world in due time as well.
