Aoki can take a shot. The thing about this fight is that, Aoki would Judoka it to the ground. I agree that BJ has the definitive advantage on the feet, but Aoki wouldn't let this fight last on the feet. He would take it to the ground. While we all know how good BJ Penn is on the ground, is he really better than Aoki? We'll see. I think this fight would be a classic grappling match up like Newton-Sakuraba.

BJ's takedown defense is beyond amazing though, but Aoki is a good judoka. So who knows, I just doubt he'd have the time to pull off a sub, considering it's BJ Penn afterall.

I am on board with you.

He did it with Hansen's fists pounding his head.

BJ is better in every aspect of MMA.
BJ = Mundials champ
Aoki = Not

I also think BJ would handle Aoki but its a fight I'd love to see happen. I mostly see BJ punishing Aoki on their feet. Not sure if he could get BJ down and if he could, it would be a battle of attrition and I don't think Aoki would be able to sub BJ.

One of my dream match ups for sure though.

Better BJJ Aoki or BJ Penn

Here a thread about the BJJ. In MMA and BJJ I say BJ takes it.

How much time does it take to pull off a sub? If could happen in the first 10 seconds of a round or the very last second. How long the round is doesn't matter. This match up is kind of like a Fedor vs Cro cop fight. It's not that Aoki is better than BJ but can he catch him making a mistake? And before anyone jumps on me, I'm not comparing BJ or Aoki to Fedor or Cro Cop. Just saying that its the same kind of match up where all it will take for Aoki to win is one mistake on BJ's part.
