i think aoki would have a good chance to sub sherk...but sherk is so much stronger i could see aoki just getting held down by sherks strength idk i think it could be a good fight
Aoki doesn't have to shoot in to take Sherk down. He can jump guard standing.
Indeed. The guy had standing rubber guard and a standing guard to kimura attempt on Kikuchi (a strong wrestler at welter) for God's sake. Aoki's decided that takedowns are overrated, and will try the subs standing.
I want to see this match more than anything else in the LW division, maybe as much as any division. I can see Sherk tooling Aoki for the most part, but I think and I hope Aoki would get a slick submission somewhere in the second or third round assuming that sweat doesn't get in the way. Aoki is the biggest prospect in the LW division now that Gomi is in Heros and I hope that he will fight in the UFC.
I'd take Aoki on this one. his guard is much more tricky and advanced than Franca's. he wouldn't be able to just maul Aoki for 5 rounds without getting subbed.
