Anyone who thinks that Wandy has built a career on beating cans.....

He has fought 31 different fighters in his pro career who have a combined record of.....

411-248-31

That's a lot of tomatoes!

He still is a true champ to me. In his weightclass he can give anyone on this planet a hard time. I'm curious though how he would do against a really good HW opponent. Cause to be honest, in his young career, Shogun has fought more big names and gave all of them a hard time. But if shogun is the real deal, it would make Wandy tha grand superior

Why are you curious? He fought Hunt, and in a lot of people's opinions he won.

He fought some cans, but hes also beat a lot of top competition. So the answer is: No.

i just guess i would have loved wandy to be in the OWGP. Wandy vs Nog would give me a view of what wandy is truely capable of. I don't think since beating Saku, wandy has really been tested. True, the fight with Hunt was there, but hunt was not really a MMA-guy yet back then. It was a dissapointing fight for the spectators back then. I would like to see Wandy face a tough opponent where he would have to give all he's got. Just like Rampage, only a lill heavier.

As long as he never fought Randleman/Vovchanchyn/Overeem/Lil Nog he is not a champ.

Wanderlei is a champion because along with fighting a few lesser-caliber fighters PRIDE threw his way, he has beaten top competition both in and out of his weight-class.

Mezger, Henderson, Sak three times, drew Mirko in a hard fought fight, Yoshida in two wars, and should've gotten the W against Hunt. He has also defended his title against the two top contenders, Rampage twice and avenged his loss to Arona.

Regardless of the subpar competition he's faced, he's also beaten high-caliber fighters, and those are the wins that count and make him the great people see him to be.
