Anyone Know the Story on "Bang"?

Simply put, why isn't Duane "Bang" Ludwig in the UFC LW division right now?

He's 2-0 in the UFC and holds that 70 second win over Jens Pulver, the first guy to KO 'lil' evil.

He just fought in the UFC a few months back so what's the story on him? You'd think the UFC would be beating down his door to get him in while they're recruiting back guys like Jens, Hermes, Yves, et al.

Not to mention the fact that Dana loves fighters that get KOs.

Twice now it's come up in conversation with strangers while watching UFC events at bars (UFC59 and 60) since the new TUF fans saw him get that fast KO over Goulet. So what's the story, why isn't he back in the UFC?

I like to watch Bang fight, but he has a serious lack of grounds skills compared to others at that level. Absent a
standing KO -- which he got in impressive fashion in the Goulet fight -- most fighters in the top echelon of the division would simply take him down and GnP or submit him.

Just check his record. It's great when people stand with him -- minus his loss to Sam Morgan -- but he simply cannot hang on the ground at that high level.

that wasnt long ago at all. You have to understand. Fighters have lives to and sometimes when they are contacted to fight they simply cant for one reason or another. We'll probably see ludwig in the ufc again but just because he hasnt showed for a few months doesnt meen hes' on the outs with joe silva or anything. Sometimes matchups cant be found or cards dont have a spot. He'll be back

true, you would think bas's protege would be better on the ground. maybe he's been working it more lately, could be why we haven't heard from him...prolly not but it would be nice

Well he's fought 2 or 3 times since his UFC apearance. UFC fighters don't normally have 3 'other' fights in between UFC bouts, so I highly doubt he's got an active contract with the UFC. Maybe I'm wrong.

He just got TKO'd by Tyson Griffin, that could be why.
