ufc 62 medical suspensions

- Renato "Babalu" Sobral will need a doctor to clear a left maxillary sinus fracture or he'll be out of contest until February 23rd 2007.

- Forrest Griffin will be suspended until October 11th 2006.

- Stephen Bonnar suffered a broken left thumb. He will need to be cleared by an orthopedic doctor or he can’t fight until February 23th 2007.

- James Varner received a point deduction for “timidity” (lack of action) in the third round and is suspended until September 26th 2006.

- Wilson Gouveia was injured by kicks and his left foot will need to be x-rayed or he cannot compete until February 23th 2007.

- Nick Diaz is suspended until September 26th 2006.

- Josh Neer will need to have his right foot and left elbow x-rayed and cleared by a doctor or he is suspended until February 23th 2007.

- Christian Wellisch is suspended until September 26th 2006.

- Robert MacDonald is suspended until September 26th 2006.

that 1 is kind of funny.

I wonder why diaz and the other 2 cant fight till later on in sept. Maybe its just the least amount of time between two bouts that you can fight.

at the end of the Bonnar/Griffin fight they said Griffin was thought to have a broken hand by his corner, if he is only out until oct. then i would say its not broken...anyone know one way or the other.

Griffen stated on SpikeTv.com in He said/He said with Bonnar to give both of them slack considering they BOTH had broken hands.......don't know for sure though.

Some of those suspensions are sorta long. Do TUF fighters go through the same mandatory medical checks since they have to fight again so soon or are they not required to do so since their fights are technically exhibitions?

Minimum 1 month between fights per NSAC.
