I've always respected BJ as a great fighting, and one of the best BJJist in the world!!! I didn't know anything about UFC back when BJ broke in, but reading your post has brought my respect for BJ to a new level. WAR BJ and Team Penn!!!!

Wow, way to be an asshole.

I feel I wasn't rude, and was honestly trying to help out fellow fans with some things they didn't know.

It's people like you who say shit like this, then complain when people call you a 'TUF noob' because you don't know what you are talking about.

Great post. I'd forgotten about the Uno rematch. That sucked big-time.

That is pretty much it, in this sport it is "what have you done for me LATELY?".

bj penn has the utmost respect from me. i admire him as a fighter, but honestly am not really a fan. i think he has been way too arrogant and brash in the past. however, his credentials state that he is truly one of the greats.

i got into a very heated debate a few weeks ago when some dumbass decided to start a thread with the title "Gomi, best LW ever"

I referenced penn's achievements at higher weights at was told that shit didn't matter. even mentioned that penn actually had defeated gomi, but that still didn't matter. these idiots truly feel that gomi is the greatest lw ever, even after hiscent losses. it is nice to see someone on here that does understand what penn means to mma, and that he is a legend. regardless of wether you like him or not, his credentials don't lie

Very good post though, good read!!

There was a division, however there was no champion.

I don't think so. He took the Hughes rematch on short notice.

Very good post.

Also a very good reply. I'm glad to know that not so many MMA fans are as retarded as would be lead to believe by reading the forums here. I try and and convince non-MMA fans how good it is compared to boxing and I have to tell them that fighters have to be smart and skilled in many areas.

Then I read that a post is too long...

Please, he lost a fight against an undefeated prospect 50 pounds over his best weight.

He then lost to the guys considered #1 & #2 in the world at WW,

He also could very easily have won all 3 fights, he could have had the decisions go his way and if it wasn't for a freak injury vs Hughes would certainly have won that one too.

You talk as though he has been dominated 3 times by average fighters.

3 very close losses to elite fighters should not diminish your reputation.
