btw well written thread. there is a decent amount of respected people in the MMA community who have mentioned bj as being the best mma fighter. bas said it recently and i think quadros did as well.

He has more natural fighting ability and skill than just about any fighter I can think of off the top of my head, but he'll lose because he gases in a fight. He is gifted, but I don't respect people for what they are given, I respect people for what they do with what they have.
Playing Devils advocate, how can any new fan without seeing older footage know how talented he is? It's unfortunate, but it seems like he's run into bad luck lately... bad luck that wouldn't have happened if he had the desire to stay at 155.
Nobody can honestly say that BJ is in the top ten at any weight right now. Obviously he has the potential to be at the top of 155lbs or 170lbs, but you need to win to be there.
I hope for the fans sake we see a new BJ in the Pulver fight, that is willing to stay at 155.
Outstanding post. The problem is that the people it's aimed at can't hold their attention on one topic for that long. Intelligent and well thought out. every once in a while I'm amazed on this site for a good thing, rather than the usual flame wars and troll jobs.
