I know this is an old thread, and this has probably been brought up, but people are reading it now and like me I doubt they'll read all 200-something pages. So let me start by saying BJ is and has been my favorite fighter for a very long time.
I've always been troubled by the weight given to BJ's win over Gomi. When I think Gomi I think Bushido, I don't think you can even mention the Pride Bushido without mentioning Gomi because they're two peas in a pod. For me that was the era where I was just so impressed by him, but he fought BJ just before that. Up until then Gomi was a decision machine basically. Maybe he was just at the beginning of his prime so it should be something to measure BJ's skills by, but it's not akin to beating Anderson today or someone like that.
