The dude is 5'9 and a natural 155er and has beaten Arguebly the best WW of all time Hughes and was dominating him again before seperating and breaking ribs. well it took me a few hours but I finally finished reading this thread. thanks for the post. I admit I was not familiar with MMA to the point of knowing Penn's history. thanks for sharing!

BJ is definetly one of the top fighters out there but he actually has a losing record (3-4) against top competition (Hughes, St Pierre, Machida, Pulver). To be honest, although I wouldn't put it above him, I would be suprised if he can hang onto the title.

Penn fans, you can tell all the stories you want. . . . when it comes to fighting nothing can substitute for the W's and BJ just doesn't look fantastic in that department.

Just to make myself clear, Im not saying he isn't one of the top fighters in the world. . . . just far from being considered best of the best. Recognition from his fan club doesn't mean anything.
