My Brother lives in New Orleans and I live in Biloxi. What screwed New Orleans so bad was the fact that the levees they had to stop flooding broke. Yes the Big Easy got ransacked, but the entire Coastal area of Mississippi did as well. The destruction in Lousiana is confined to a relatively small area compared to Mississippi. There is not one friggin city on the Missisppi Coast that did not get substantial damage. Get a Map out and look on it from end to end of the Mississippi Coast Line and compare the area if you don't believe me. I feel for the folks in Louisiana, but seeing junk like this is infuriating. There has been a huge amount of attention paid to New Orleans because it is a large Metropolitan area. The cities affected in Mississippi are not as large, but collectively they are far larger. Hell, they had damage all the way to North Mississippi from the wind when they storm worked its way inland, Louisiana didn't have damage that far North. Even my Brother says he thinks it is wrong because Mississippi got it just as bad if not more than Louisiana did. Hell, if you are from the Mississippi Coast you kind of look at New Orleans as being part of it, so don't think we are happy to see those folks suffering, but folks are suffering here as well. You are talking to someone that everything he owned. My folks' house is still being repaired from the damage they took. My Great Grand Mother lost her house. My Grand Father lost his house. Hell, let's make this short, I have lots of family that lost their homes. My Brother's place in New Orleans still stands, so
Don't tell me there is no comparrison.
Thanks yo everyone who has paryed for this region(Notice I said that, I want New Orleans to rebound as much as here) or made donations of time or money. It is truly appreciated by those of us down here.
