I watched Extreme Makeover last night also and they redid a guy's house who had cancer. Did they maybe show a different one in your area? I would love to have seen the one about Katrina.

I will certainly be making a donation... and I hope we all do because our government obviously hasn't done even remotely enough. I read the other day that Fema was given 900 million dollars to put towards relief effort and that money is now unnaccountablt for and has diappeared into paperwork...... was a travesty

Yea even though things seem OK here, with having Mardi Gras and everything, the surounding areas outside the city are still totally destroyed. On the news the other day, they said they are still finding bodies under debris. Many people fortunately received Trailers to live in, but now a big problem has occured. The upcoming hurricane season is bad news for anyone living in a Trailer. These families are still soooo far from being back to what anyone calls normal. Thanks Sherdog for still remembering everyone on the gulf coast.

I watched the show since it is the best thing on TV nowadays and I am really glad you made this thread. While I don't agree with all the bush backing, and some of the things you do(NOt that big of a deal), I will glady admit that you try your hardest to use the tools you have to make a difference.

I can't really get into that show. They way overdo it, MTV Cribs style. I finally refused to watch it after the episode where they made about a $1.5mil cribs house for some poor family, complete with indoor basketball court and hydraulic beds that bounce up and down. The family will be bankrupt the day the tax bill for it all hits, but we are supposed to sit and cry and feel so good about extreme makeover. No.

I guarantee if those people knocked on your shack and said they wanted to build u a house, you would think differently. Just b/c someone helps another in an excessive way, that doesn't mean that it's wrong.
