Kalib Starnes
Melvin Guillard
Jeremy Horn
I could only list 3 because adding anyone else would only decrease the value these three have brought to the sport.

Hughes influenced the sport more than Rutten with his awe-inspiring GNP.
What the hell did Rutten do?

He made a really funny self-defense video. Also, he has a charming accent. Now, eriously, Bas was a great fighter, but his in-ring credentials are blown to epic proportions because of his out-of-ring charisma, most of it post-fight career.

Mirko is definitely a runner up on the top 5 but not above rutten, sorry kiddo. Just because you make a crossover from K-1 to MMA and popularize the LHK doesn't make you a great of the sport. Bas Rutten is one of the most respected strikers in MMA history while subbing almost half of all his opponents. I don't really know any other fighters that helped elevate MMA more than Bas. Hughes is just a follower that improved on an already existing idea.
(Ortiz showed the world what brutalizing GnP can do, Hughes just followed)
Good try though
