1. Royce Gracie

2. Kazushi Sakuraba

3. Matt Hughes

4. Fedor Emelianenko

5. Chuck Liddell

6. Ken Shamrock

7. Randy Couture

8. Wanderlei Silva

9. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

10. Forrest Griffin

JUst off the list, and probably on by the time they're done:

BJ Penn, GSP

No, I'm just not a typical Sherdog Rutten TUF Noob.

Mirko influenced the sport more than Rutten by showing how effective his LHK and meaty thighs are. Nevermind that a k1 striker could make it big as a crossover sport.

Hughes influenced the sport more than Rutten with his awe-inspiring GNP.

What the hell did Rutten do?

MMA is a young sport so i think i'll leave it at that. Adding anyone else would only cheapen the list.
I kind of agree....but Saku has to be in there - showed that these BJJ guys can be beat, wrestling is still alive, showmanship, the heart and fact he fought so many bigger opponents, and all of the unorthodox techniques he utilized, and as someone said, "Sak would pull out a new move in a fight...and just days later everybody was trying it out"*

* not word for word but you get it...

He made a really funny self-defense video.
