22-5 relax people
"is he the same cro cop?" "should cro cop retire?" "is cro cop the most over rated striker in the history of MMA" "now that cro cop lost to gonzaga, would he lose to a 9 year old girl?"
guys relax, its a loss, it happens, hes coming off of 5 strait wins one of witch was josh barnett.
cro cop is still awsome.
mma fights are VERY volatile you must juge a fighter over his entire career.

agreed.
the only reason he should retire is if he has permanent damage to his leg that prevent him from fighting to the same level as before.

UFC should feed him to Chuck, and build up to Liddell vs whoever the HW champ is.

You know, before the fight started, I wondered to myself....if Gabrial Gonzaga is the greatest fighte rin the world 5 years from now, people wouldn't blink knowing he beat CroCop. Dude studied CropCop, ate a kick and gave him some crazy GnP. He DESERVED that win. Both fighters are good!

Im wondering about him ever getting a title shot in ufc now. He has 4 fights left and I doubt theyd give him a shot w/o defeating someone first. That means at maximum he would only be able to defend twice. Historically the UFC wants someone available for 3 fights.

People tend to overeact too much to both wins and losses. Sokoudjou has a couple impressive wins and suddenly he's the greatesh LHW of all-time. Mirko and Wand lose and suddenly they are bums. A loss seems to erase all the good wins a fighter has had, and a big win erases all the losses as well.
We all new Mirko had no ground game and a suspect chin. Both those weaknesses were re-enforced Saturday. He is still a great fighter, and I'm sure he will come back strong just like he has after his other losses. He came back after getting KOed by Randelman, and he came back and won the OWGP after losing to Fedor. He can definitely come back from a loss to Gonzaga.

I agree people make way too big a deal about single fights, and I agree with the threadstarter about how ridiculous it is the threads that are popping up about Mirko being overrated and such.
He'll be back with a vengeance I have no doubt.
Also, in regards to his ground game, sure it's not a great offensive game, but he survived Fedor in his guard while receiving very little damage so I wouldn't say its terrible.

I agree. It's typical shit around here. Cro Cop lost a fight. Big deal. He should retire when he wants to. That's it. He can still walk in there and take out the best on a good night. I bet the pro fighters love armchar quarterbacks telling them what to do with their career.
