Psychological Survey... sort of.
Let's see if I can get something educated and constructive going here. It has come to my attention that most, almost all, of the posters on sherdog take great pride in insulting, belittling, talking tough to one another, etc, etc. I used to think it was no big thing, teenage boys learning how to talk like big men and so on, but recently it has come to my attention that the worst of these posters are late twenty to early thirty year old men. Does it really make you feel like a man to read half of a post, and immediately start telling the poster what a piece of shit, dumbass, worthless waste of life he/she is? No one talks like this in real life, and I know the anonymity of the internet makes bravehearts of all cowards, but sherdog seems to have attracted more than it's share. I admit that this became most apparent to me when I found myself doing it, and have started to wonder WTF at my own behavior. This is an mma related website the last time I checked, and every real fighter I know, five, and every other mma practioner who does not fight, many, are the nicest most mild mannered people I hang out with. So here is the survey question I would like to discuss. Is it the idiot wanna be tough guys of the world who are clogging this site, or is there something about sherdog that leads to this? Does anyone else feel like they are easily sucked into the name calling nonsense?
